Review: L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Palette

This is my review on the L.A. Colors Eyeshadow Palette in Moody Nudes. As you can see, it was for $2.99. I found this at my local Rite Aid store. There are 24 colors in this palette. There was also another palette it was displayed with palette with more bright and summer like colors. As you can see, these colors are very appropriate for the holiday season. Take a closer look...

By Column: 1st column
You get: A shimmery black, a glittery silver, a glittery white, a shimmery bone color

2nd column
You get: a shimmery dark plum, a shimmery bright purple, a close to matte nude, a shimmery tan

3rd column
You get: a shimmery dark red, a shimmery bright red, a dark blue, a dark swamp green

4th column
You get: a shimmery purple, a glittery pink, a close to matte camo green, a shimmery brown

5th column
You get a close to matte coral pink, a glittery dark bronze, a shimmery mint, a glittery dark metal blue

6th column
You get a shimmery brown, a shimmery gold, a shimmery light purple, a glittery blood red

This palette is full of so many different colors! You have some neutral colors, some blues, some pinks, some purples, and some metallics. Most of these shadows are shimmery, and 2 close to mattes shades out of the whole thing. I tried looking on the L.A. Colors website, but no go. Looks like this palette may be limited edition? Anyways, the most claim/description I could get for this palette is that there are "24 vibrant eyeshadow shades." Oh, and I did find a cruelty free rabbit on the packaging which is a plus!
Surprisingly, these shadows are great! They are highly pigmented and buttery to the touch. They also blend fairly well on the lids. However, they do fade if you do not use a primer, but they easily last all day with a primer. There is quite a lot of purple/pink colors in this palette, however there is a range of looks you can get out of this palette. Strange fact, the shades have a scent, reminds me of a citrus cleaner, but I don't notice it once it's on my face. Overall, I think it's a great eyeshadow palette for only $3!

So quick summary:

Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Pigmented shadows
  • Blends well
  • Great range of colors
Cons:
  • No mattes
  • Strange fragrance
Overall Rating: 88/100

This is my first time trying anything from the L.A. Colors line, so if you have tried anything from this line let me know your thoughts!

Until next time...
-Cindy
