Review: L'oocitane Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream

#ineedshea #RefreshVoxBox +Influenster +L'Occitane en Provence

Hi everyone! Today I am here with my review of the L'oocitane Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream. I must say I was sent this product from +Influenster in my #RefreshVoxBox for testing purposes. However, all opinions are my own.

I was sent a sample size of the L'oocitane Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream, but a regular size is 1.7 ounces for $28 on the L'Oocitane website. According to the website, the product is described as:
"The Light Shea Butter Comforting Cream, with its fine and non-greasy texture, is formulated with 5% shea butter to answer the essential needs of normal to combination skin, including sensitive skin types. Lastingly moisturized (48h)**, skin is supple and soft. As protected against external aggressions, skin stays comfortable all day long.
In Burkina Faso, women produce shea butter by hand. While one might expect this technique to weaken and damage the skin, in reality it leaves it incredibly soft. L'OCCITANE discovered that the shea butter produced in Burkina Faso using traditional methods is particularly rich in omega 6 and karitene. These molecules have exceptional properties and help to moisturize, nourish and give extra protection to the skin every day. "
To summarize these are the claims of the product:
  • Lasting moisture
  • Skin is supple and soft
  • Skin stays comfortable
Do I believe it provides lasting moisture? Yes!
Do I believe it leaves skin supple and soft? Yes!
Do I believe skin stays comfortable? Yes!

When I first got this product, I was so excited to try it, yet a bit skeptical. For most skin products, I don't really notice a difference, but I keep using them because I bought it. With this product, the night after I used it, I noticed a HUGE difference! My skin was extremely hydrated in the morning. It felt replenished, fresh, and supple! It felt soft, and a tad glowy as well. It's not greasy, and doesn't make my combo oily skin more oily. However, if you have extremely oily skin, I'm not sure it this product is for you. I'm also not sure about the 48 hour moisture claim. If I wash my face, I definitely lose some moisture in my skin. Overall, a great product!

My Overall Rating: 95/100

Blogs On Hold

Hi everyone! Just a quick update! If you haven't noticed, I have been posting less and less. Part of that is I am moving!! Second part, I have been studying for the GRE. So you may still see blogs, just not so frequently! I don't think anyone ever reads these on a regular basis, so I don't think anyone will take this too harshly...

Until next time..

Unboxing August's LipMonthly Box

Hi everyone! So I am back with a LipMonthly unboxing! It's $10 a month and they send you a bag full of lip/beauty products. Though I thought last month's was okay, I am thoroughly unimpressed with this box. There are a few surprises that I liked, but overall I will be unsubscribing. Here is my bag, judge for yourself.

It's a bright berry color. Though the color is beautiful, it does feel very drying on the lips and seem to extenuate your cracks.

City Color Magic Balm - $2.99
You may think this is colorless, however, it gives of a baby pink stain. Yes, you heard me, it stains!

City Color Lip Balm in Ultra Pink - $3.99
This is a repeat from last month. It's in a different color as it's a berry pink, but still the same product. Not so thrilled I got a repeat.

It's a pink lilac that's very opaque.

Pixi Shadow Stick, I forgot the picture (coming soon). It's a bronze taupe shadow stick with saves this whole box

Overall, I'm not too impressed, especially since 3 of the 5 products are from City Color and one is a repeat from last month. Honestly, since I am paying full price for this box I am very disappointed. I understand that this box adds up to more than I paid, however, I am definitely not convinced when I regularly see these products for cheaper at my local drugstore, which then makes me question how much "value" I am getting. I subscribed to this box in hopes of trying new products and different lines, but when over half the box is from the same company, I feel like I am just being sent the entire lip line of 1 brand. Not to mention I got a repeat product from last month! What is this, you had extra from last month so you are sending it out again? I will definitely be unsubscribing. If you have tried this box, I would love to know your thoughts!

Until next time...

July Beauty Favorites!

Hi Everyone! So I know this post is late late late, but for those of you who care to know, here it is! Not too many favorites this month, however do count on more favorites next month as I have been hauling like crazy!

E.L.F. Studio Blush in Candid Coral
I have been using this blush everyday this month! Why? If gives you the perfect glow to your cheeks and is so quick and easy to blend out.

Words cannot describe how much I love the look of this CC Cream. It makes your skin looks flawless, but natural at the same time! Not to mentions, there is SPF in it!

I bought this from a blog sale, and I have been loving this for summer! You got some nice warm colors in here, but also some color to spice up your look.

I have been going to this lipstick for that bright summer lip! It goes on quite smoothly and last a good while especially if I'm not eating or drinking!

NYX Butter Gloss in Cherry Cheese Cake
I have always wanted to take part in the orange lip, but like many I was always too scared! This lipgloss is a great way to dip your toes into the trend without fully jumping into it.

My lazy day lip gloss. Enough said.

Love, Fire Dress from Macy's
Not quite a beauty item, but it makes me feel like a beauty bombshell! When I first saw this dress I was in love! I actually passed it up the first time, but I couldn't stop thinking about it so I went back and picked it up!

So not too many favorites, but like I said, there will definitely be more next month!

Until next time...

Summer Beauty Essentials

Hi everyone! Today I am back with my essentials for summer. You will be seeing a moisturizing theme since that very hot volcanic sun of ours is working at full force to roast everything on Earth (at least here in California). Also keep in mind that you don't necessary need the exact same items as I have or even the same type of items. These are just the ones I constantly cling to in the summer.

Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Lotion Sunscreen
This goes on my body every single day! Skin cancer is not very cute. Though you should be applying sunscreen every single day regardless of the season, most people spend more time in the sun in the summer than say winter so you must protect that skin!

Boots Expert Shine Control Lotion
With Summer comes the hot, humid weather, and me sweating profusely. So to keep me from looking like a grease ball, I have been using this! Bonus, it's suppose to help control oil in the long run too.

Lumene Pure Radiance Day and Night Cream
Moisturizing is a definite must! These have been keeping my face super moisturize. I mean it's so moisturizing that when I wake up, I feel as if my face has just been soaking in lotion all night. There is also a day version, with SPF, that will keep you moisturize all day too!

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater
So ever come home and you feel like your face is overheated and full of sweat? Well this product is great for refreshing your face!

Suave Visible Glow Self-Tanning Body Lotion
If you tan super easily like me, then you know that it's a curse! You have 1 arm that's darker than the other, which is a different color than your neck, which is a different color than your face, and etc. So to even all it out, I use this! It's a gradual tan, but it's easy to control!

Bath & Body Works Secret Wonderland
By far my favorite scent from Bath & Body Works. It smells great, and is super moisturizing on the skin. Honestly your skin will be so soft you can't stop touching it!

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream
This is definitely one of my favorite BB Creams. First off, it smells great! Second, it has sunscreen! Third, I love the light coverage!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
You can't even read the label, because I have used it that much! (Actually, I currently don't own it, but I did last summer and I'm dying without it this summer. It was perfect! Last all day, matte finish!)

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder
If you are an oily monster like me, then you need powder every single day to keep that oil away! I've been loving Coty because it's translucent, cheap, and comes in a huge container!

Yea, it's a little swatch heavy...

E.L.F. Blush in Pink Passion
I honestly didn't wear this blush for the lognest time because I was afraid of the color. Turns out, if you use a light hand and blend just a tad, it will be okay! Not to mention it gives the most lively glow to your cheeks!

Nivea A Kiss Of Vitamin Swirl
So this may have vitamins, but it also has that special ingredient, SPF! Most people put sunscreen on their face and body, but forget the lips. Let me tell you from experience, having a sunburn on your lips is not fun!

Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eyestudio
By far my favorite cream shadows on the market. They come in great colors and they last all day, even in the hot sweaty summer. Another bonus, they make great one shadow eye looks so you are bound to save time in the morning!

Seashore Frosts

Bad to the Bronze

Tenacious Teal

So hopefully you found this post useful! If you didn't the main take away message is, stay moisturized and keep that SPF on you at all times! Anyways, if you have any summer essentials you have been loving, I would love to know in the comments below!

Until next time...
