First Impression: Dr. Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles

This will be my first impression on the Dr. Scholl's For her High Heel Insoles. I received these in my Influenster Sunkissed VoxBox. You can find these basically anywhere, Target, Walmart, drugstores, and I've even seen these at Safeway. They retail for $10.99. There is currently a $2 off Dr. Scholls for Her product on the Dr. Scholl's website. The one I have is for women's shoe size 6-10. According to their website, this is the only size they come in.

According to the packaging, the high heel insoles are a:
"Unique design [that] helps prevent high heel pain"
          The packaging also claims:
"Fits comfortable in heels 2" and up
      • Immediate and long lasting comfort, guaranteed!
      • Shifts pressure off ball of foot
          Helps prevent foot pain
      • Ultra-soft gel arch shifts pressure off your ball of foot
      • FabuSTEP Gel provides added cushioning
      • Guaranteed all day comfort
Hidden comfort that fits in fashionable shoes
      • Practically invisible, even in strappy heels
      • Slim desgin won't make shoes feel tight
        Stays firmly in place
      • Unique adhesive keeps insole in place
      • Removable without damage to shoes"
The box also suggest you use these insoles with open shoes such as: slides, sandals, slingbacks, and strappy dress shoes.

As for the claims, I DO NOT believe any of them are true except for immediate comfort. They will feel nice at first but it won't last. I didn't shift the pressure off the ball of the foot because heels make your feet apply pressure there. (The higher the heel the more pressure the ball of your feet will have). It also doesn't prevent foot pain. Again nothing can prevent that besides not wearing heels because of how your foot must shape to the heel. Also, depending on the shoe, it will make your shoes feel tight. That is easily fixed by using a different pair of shoe. They also don't stay in place. When I took off my shoe, the insole literally feel out. The only thing I really like about this is that it makes the bottom of my shoe a little more comfortable.

My Overall Rating: 20/100

My advice, save your money. This was a real disappointment in the whole Sunkissed VoxBox.

Review: Rimmel London Show Off Lip Laquer

Top: Apocalyptic Middle: Out of This World Bottom: Nude Eclipse

This will be a review of the Rimmel London Show Off Lip Laquers. These have been in a the UK for quite sometime (known as Apocalips), but recently, they have been launched in the US. According to my Walgreens weekly circular, they are exclusive to Walgreens (for now). They retail for $4.99 each, but you can get them for buy one get one 50% sometimes when the Rimmel brand goes on sale at Walgreens. I picked up 3 colors: Apocalyptic (#303) (Top), Out of This World (#300) (Middle), and Nude Eclipse (#600)(Bottom). Apocalyptic is a bright red pink, Out of This world is a bright almost barbie pink shade (I would say it is a darken barbie pink), and Nude Eclipse is a straight up skin tone shade. Apocalyptic and Nude Eclipse don't have shimmer in them, but Out of This World does. According to the Rimmel London's website from the UK, they come in 8 colors. However, I think they come in 14 shades here in the US, or at least that is what it looks like in Stephanie Louise's Blog.

Here are the swatches of each shade:
Apocalyptic #303

Out of This World #300

Nude Eclipse #600

The lip laquers do not come in a package. They are sealed by a piece of tape bridging the cap and the container, with a number engraved on one end. You can also tell if they have been tampered with because once you twist off the cap, you will see a clear chamber. Once you remove the wand, the chamber will be filled with product.

If you go to the Rimmel London's website for the US, you won't find this product on there. But if you go to the UK's website for Rimmel London, you will find their description of the product as well as a list of ingredients. According to Rimmel London's website:
"It's the End of Colour as you know it! The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine. It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss... It's BIGGER than both! LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!"
They don't really make any claims about this product except that it is an intense rich colour of a lipstick, a satin smooth shine, and it is not a lipstick or a lip gloss.

Do I believe it is intense rich in color? Yes!

Do I believe is provides a satin smooth shine? Yes!

Do I believe it is not a lipstick or a lip gloss? Somewhat. I don't think it is a lipstick, but the consistency is very much like a gloss (but not sticky!)

Some interesting facts about this product:
          1) There are parabens in this product (methylparaben, propylparaben, and ethylparaben).
          2) There is retinyl palmitate in it.
          3) There is fragrance in this product.
          4) They are not cruelty free and do test on animals.

Honestly, this is my favorite lip product I have ever tried. It is HIGHLY pigmented and goes on very smoothly. You don't need a lot of product to have a lip. (I imagine these will last me a LONG time.) It isn't sticky and doesn't dry my lips out. It also is very lightweight, but not to the point where you don't feel the product on your lips. It also has a slight fragrant smell to it (reminds me of watermelon), but it isn't strong or overpowering. It wears great as long as you don't eat or drink anything. The only problem I have with this product is that once you start to eat or drink, it will fade so it isn't a stain. I love that it is very affordable (especially when you find it as buy one get one 50% off). I also love the packaging, especially how the stopper works. Every time I pull out the applicator, there is absolutely NO product on my wand, just the doe foot part. That way you won't have weird lip gloss building up on the wand.

My Overall Rating: 97/100

Let me know what you think! Do you love them like I do? What other colors do you have?

Until next time...

First Impression: Sinful Shine with Gel Tech

In the color Picante (#1216)

This will be my first impression on the Sinful Shine with Gel Tech nail polish. I received this from Influenster in my Sunkissed VoxBox. The color I have is in Picante (#1216). In person, it is a red with an orange undertone. It looks more orange in the picture than it is in real life. It also came with a card with more information about the nail polish and the colors they offer.

According to the card, they retail for $2.99 and are exclusively at Walgreens for a limited time. They also come in 32 shades. The Sinful Colors Website you a better look at the shade selection. This product is marketed as a shiny nail polish with the "ultimate gloss," and even on their website they claim it is 5x more glossy than a patent leather shoe (determined from a study).

The website also claims that with Gel Tech technology formula it provides:
"...opulent, rich color and a brilliant shine finish."
Do I believe this product is opulent? If you're selling it at $2.99 no.. hahahahaha

Do I believe this product is rich in color? Yes!

Do I believe this product has a brilliant shine? Yes!

If you don't take my word for it, judge for yourself:
With just one coat. (Excuse the out-of-the-lines polish, I'm terrible with nails.)

Like with all Sinful Color nail polishes, it is super opaque! You just need one coat and you are good to go! Also the shine on this is phenomenal! This is by far the shiniest polish I own. As for the product itself, the polish applied very smoothly. The brush is a standard nail polish brush (not a flat brush like Rimmel polishes), but I do wish it was a flat brush. For me, this polish never seemed to dry. After a couple hours, if it scratched my nail, I scratched up nail polish. This also impacted it's staying power. After a day, my nails started to chip. My other Sinful Color nail polishes stay longer than this formulation, so I am somewhat disappointed by this.

My Overall Rating: 70/100

If you had different experience, let me know!

Until next time...

Review: Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics

This photo was taken from Muggyman

I was sent these from Influenster in their Sunkissed VoxBox. I've been wearing these ribbons for almost 2 weeks now and I am so amazed at how these work. When the whole ribbon craze came out, I really didn't understand. My hair is extremely straight, sleek, and long, and it normally takes me 2 hair ties to hold my ponytails in place. However, I only need one of these, and my high ponytail is there to stay all day e'vry day! The package comes with 5 hair ribbons in 5 different colors: pink, purple, taupe, silver, and black. They retail from $3.99-$4.99.

Here is what Goody's website description of the product:
"Goody’s NEW Ouchless Ribbon Elastics offer you a unique hair tie to personalize your ponytail. As beautiful as ribbons but soft and stretchy too, these hair ties are “knot” your average elastic. New Ribbon Elastics are both comfortable and fashionable, plus look great in your hair or on your wrist."
Do I think this product is soft and stretchy? Yes, definitely!

Here are the product features as described by the website:
          Product Feature:
                        • Unique knot style hair tie
                        • Soft, stretchy ribbion material
                        • Looks beautiful on the wrist or in the hair!
                        • Assorted colors
                        • From America's #1 elastics brand, Goody® Ouchless®
Do I think this is a unique knot style hair tie? No, there are so many other ones that look like these out  there! Whether they feel or perform the same, I have no idea.

Do I think this is soft, stretchy ribbon material? Yes to soft and stretchy. No, this is not like a craft ribbon or present ribbon, it is more like an elastic.

Do I think it looks beautiful? I think this is up for interpretation.

Does it come in assorted colors? Somewhat, 3 neutral colors 2 "bold" colors.

As for my two cents on this product, I really like it. From what I noticed, it does pull less hair than my Scunci hair ties. They hold my hair pretty well throughout the day, but if I go for a run or do an intense workout, my ponytail will budge a little. I have also noticed that the ribbon has gotten a little looser with use, but I don't know if it will continue to loosen up. If it begins to deteriorate or change in some drastic way, I'll do an update on these. The knot has also gotten tighter while the ring of the ribbon got bigger. I also find it extremely annoying that there is a noticable knot in the ribbon. I understand you can style it so the knot is at the bottom, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it because I'm challenged lol. I like that they have a variety of colors from more natural to fun colors. However, if you compare how many units you get to price to other hair ties, these are definitely more expensive.

My Overall Rating: 93/100

If you have these, let me know what you think. Do you love, hate, or neutral them?

Until next time..
