Best Places to get Discounted Drugstore Products

If you love makeup like I do, this addiction can be quite pricey even when talking about drugstore products. Over the years I have discovered certain discount stores that carry drugstore products (some even high end) for a fraction of the cost. However, please take into consideration your region as different areas may carry different products and even different stores that do the same exact thing. This is based on California. J

The most unlikely stores seems to be the ones with the best deals.

1. Grocery Outlet
-You think this store is just for groceries? Think again! Some of the best deals I have found here. Remember when Loreal launched the Project Runway collection? Well, just the other day I ran into some of the Le Gloss and Colour Riche lipsticks from that line for $2 each. Yes, you heard me…$2! I believe Le Gloss and Colour Riche lipsticks normally cost around 993042. Yes, they may be “old.” But as long as they have not been open, they are still safe to use even a year later. Some other brands I have seen here are Milani, Physician’s Formula, Revlon, Maybelline, Garnier, E.L.F… just to list a few. These products definitely vary by store. I’m not quite sure how Grocery Outlet gets their hands on these products, as a lot of them were clearanced out of Target, Rite Aid, Walgreens and such.

2. Big Lots
-This is a very similar store to Grocery Outlet, but less emphasis on groceries. (Think like Target or Walmart but slightly cheaper.) From my experience, Big Lot does not carry as much cosmetics as Grocery Outlet. Some brands I have seen at Big Lot is Almay, Wet n Wild, Covergirl… just to list a few. Their selection isn’t as broad as there will be 15 of the same shade of eyeshadow. Prices here are slightly higher than Grocery Outlet, but still cheaper than normal drugstore prices.

3. Ross
-Though this store is mostly discounted clothing, they do have some cosmetics. Most of their cosmetics are drugstore, but their body/hair products are usually discounted high end products. From what I have seen, they carry Physician’s Formula, Profusion, Bed Head, H2O… just to list a few. Selection varies depending on the day. Some days you will have a great selection and other days you will have very few choices. You should also note products here are sometimes beat up, at least more than other places. So check before you buy! Especially here!

4. TJ Maxx/Marshalls
-This is very similar to Ross, however, most items in these stores are more designer and name brand. You see this with their beauty products as well. They mostly carry discounted high-end things like Elizabeth Arden, however, like Ross they have Bed Head and they also carry Sexy Hair. I have also seen fragrances here like Wonderstuck by Taylor Swift and Fame by Lady Gaga

5. Dollar Tree
-Now a lot of brands I see here are not really mainstream brands, however, once in a while I will see Covergirl or Loreal here. Sometimes they carry ELF, but it doesn't really count since most of ELF cosmetics are usually $1 anyways.

6. 99 Cent Only
-What applies to Dollar Tree also applies here.

7. Blog Sales
-I only mention this because sometimes you can get unused drugstore products and even high end products for a lot cheaper than retail. Part of that is people buy things then don’t use it then sell it. You do need to do your own research though as most items in a blog sale are used. So, where do you like to get your makeup?
